ピースボートおりづるプロジェクト

９月２６日に国連で開かれる核廃絶に関する会議にあわせて、ピースボートと
エルサルバドル国連代表部との協力のもと、以下のようなイベントが開催されます。
今回のスピーカーは、
エルサルバドルの常駐代表であるカルロス・ガルシア・ゴンザレス大使、
「ヒバクシャ地球一周　証言の航海」の代表であるピースボートの川崎哲（かわさきあきら）、
ニューヨークにヒロシマ・ナガサキの被爆者を招待して次世代の若者に証言を聞いてもらう機会を作る「ヒバクシャ・ストーリー」のディレクターであるキャサリン・サリバン氏

ニューヨークで貴重な話が共有されるチャンスです。

ヒロシマ、ナガサキから学ぶこと：

２０１３年９月２６日、国連では核廃絶に関する国連総会ハイレベルミーティングが開かれます。
エルサルバドル政府代表部と国際NGOピースボートは核廃絶に尽力する重要なプロジェクトの紹介をします。
核兵器の危険性への意識を高めたり、核廃絶への市民のサポートを集めるなどの活動を
世界中で展開している、ピースボートの「ヒバクシャ地球一周　証言の航海」。

２００８年に始まったこのプロジェクトは、ヒロシマ・ナガサキの被爆者と共に地球一周の船旅で世界を周り、
被爆体験の証言をし、世界の人々や若者に特に核兵器の人的損害を話しています。これまでに、１２０人を越える被爆者がこの証言の船旅に参加してきました。

Lessons learned

from Hiroshima & Nagasaki:
working towards nuclear weapons free
regions across the globe

On September 26th 2013 the United Nations will hold its high level meeting of the
General Assembly on Nuclear Disarmament. As a joint initiative between the
Permanent Mission of El Salvador to the United Nations, and the International NGO
Peace Boat, we will share information about important projects on nuclear
disarmament, such as the Peace Boat Hibakusha Project, which seeks to raise
awareness about the dangers of nuclear weapons and foster public support for
nuclear disarmament. The project was launched in 2008, and consists of inviting
Hibakusha (survivors of the atomic bombing in Hiroshima and Nagasaki) to participate
in around-the-world voyages to share their testimonies, educate people and youth in
particular about the human costs of nuclear weapons. Over 120 Hibakusha (survivors
have participated in this global advocacy project to date.

Speakers at the event will include the Permanent Representative of El Slavador, his
Excellency Ambassador Carlos Garcia Gonzalez and guests Mr. Kawasaki Akira, the
Director of Peace Boat’s Hibakusha Project as well as Dr. Kathleen Sullivan; the
Director of Hibakusha Stories, a project created to share the stories of survivors from
Hiroshima and Nagasaki with the next generation. The organizers believe it is
imperative to share the survivor’s brave legacy of calling for a world free of nuclear
weapons, and in accordance with the vision of the United Nations to continue working
towards global nuclear disarmament, we support the efforts of the UN Office of
Disarmament Affairs to meet their goals of increasing disarmament education and
promoting a nuclear free world.
